Secret Beach Listing Is…A Secret!

A $35 million dollar compound located at Secret Beach is for sale but you won’t find it on the MLS. This is a “Pocket Listing” which means there is an official listing agreement but the Seller has opted to not put in on the MLS.

You might have seen Secret Beach and not even known it. It’s the stretch of beach that you can see when you visit the Kilauea Light House.
There are three homes on this 18.25 acre property: a 5,356-square-foot main house with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths, a 3,488-square-foot guest house with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths and a three-bedroom, three-bath caretaker’s house that’s 3,141 square feet.

Additionally a 4,480 square foot “entertainment pavilion” is included that was designed by Greg Warner and was featured in Architectural Digest.

Increase In Air Travel To Hawaii Bolsters 2018 Economic Outlook

The Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism said in a new report Hawaii’s overall economic condition in 2018 will be better than previously projected, as a result of the new tax reform bill.

The airlines are also expected to provide more than 13 million air seats to the state in 2018, a 9% increase from the previous year.
The report found that in 2017, the state gained 7,200 additional non-agriculture payroll jobs compared with a year earlier, with the increase in jobs mostly occurring in tourism-related industries.
1,100 hotel jobs were added. Transportation, warehousing and utilities added 800 jobs.
Beyond tourism, professional and business services experienced the largest job gains at 1,800 additional jobs, healthcare and social assistance increased 700 jobs, according to the study. Educational services gained 400 jobs.
Industries that lost jobs included state government, down 1,000 payroll jobs; wholesale trade, down 700 job; financial activities, down 500 jobs; and manufacturing and construction, which each lost 200 jobs in 2017, the DBEDT study found.

United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing At Honolulu

United Flight 1175 from San Francisco to Honolulu ran into troubles on its way to Hawaii. Images on social media show the right engine of the Boeing 777 aircraft missing parts of its cover and shaking while in flight. This happened about 40 minutes before landing and passengers reported that during that 40 minutes bits of the engine would continue to peal off.

The crew braced the passengers for a crash landing and emergency crews were on the ground to assist. The pilots were successful in landing the aircraft safely and no injuries were reported and the passengers disembarked at their gate. The cause of the malfunction is not yet know and is currently under investigation.
