Lt. Governor Josh Green Leads Group To Open Tourism By Using Pre-Testing
Last week Governor Ige announced the extension of the States 14-day quarantine to July 31 which further stalls the state’s ability to open for tourism.  Many expected a firm date on when that quarantine will be lifted but the Governor is not releasing that date at this time.
However some hope might be on the horizon, Governor Ige has asked Lieutenant Governor Josh Green to lead a group to implement tourism recovery.  Lt. Green’s group is focusing on 72 hour pre-testing that the state of Alaska has implemented.  In the past Gov. Ige has said he’s in favor of pre-testing as has Peter Ingram from Hawaiian Airlines.

I recorded this news while watching KITV Channel 4, to read a full article on this click this link:  June 12, 2020 Star Advertiser Lt. Green Article

COVID Shutdown Based Civil Lawsuit Filed Against Gov. Ige
Twelve Kauai Residents, who are a part of “For Our Rights”, a Kalaheo based group, and One Hawaii Island Resident filed a civil lawsuit against Governor David Ige.  The lawsuit alleges that his COVID proclamations are unconstitutional and void.
Oahu Attorneys from the Freedom Law Firm are representing the group of 13.  They allege that the Governors supplements to his emergency proclamation caused loss of income, emotional trauma, unemployment, depression and anxiety.
The complaint also names State Attorney General Clare Conners and alleges that both Conners and Ige acted outside of the emergency order allowance which is 60 days from the issuance which is May 18.  Under a state of emergency Hawaii law gives authorities power to make rules but that it “shall terminate automatically sixty days after the issuance of a proclamation of a state of emergency or local state of emergency, respectively, or by a separate proclamation of the governor or mayor, whichever occurs first.”
Also filed was a temporary restraining order for state to stop enforcing the 14 day quarantine.

The court date is June 26 at 10:30 a.m.

Spouting Horn Park Renovations
The county of Kauai allocated $500,000 towards rebuilding the vendor stalls and general improvements to the Spouting Horn area.
I visited the area on Sunday and saw the booths were being gutted and the park area is being worked on.
