New Hawaiian Airlines Flight From CA to Maui
Hawaiian Airlines will launch daily nonstop flights between Sacramento and Kahului, Maui beginning April 2019.
“West Coast travelers love Hawaii just as much as we do, which is why we’re thrilled to offer the convenience of flying straight to Maui amidst the comfort of our signature, award-winning hospitality,” Brent Overbeek, senior vice president of revenue management and network planning at Hawaiian Airlines, said.
This news comes about a week after Alaska Airlines announced a new Sacramento route of its own. Starting in December, the Seattle-based carrier will be the only carrier to offer a nonstop flight between Sacramento and Kailua-Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island.

Trump Administration Approves Assistance For Kauai’s Flood Victims
The Trump administration approved Hawaii Gov. David Ige’s request for individual assistance for victims of the heavy rains that caused severe flooding and landslides on Kauai and Oahu in April, after the Federal Emergency Management Agency previously denied the request.
Following the approval, affected residents will now be able to access federal funding and resources to recover.  The funding applies to private structures that sustained damage due to the severe weather.
At least 760 homes were affected by the severe weather on Kauai and Oahu that caused historic flooding and mudslides in mid-April.
Last month, President Donald Trump approved public assistance for damages caused by the severe flooding, which the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency said could total $20 million.
