Kauai Real Estate Upadate, Tables At Poipu Review, Oahu-Maui-Big Island 2022 vs 2021 Review

Kauai Real Estate Update-  Last week on the island it was an active one for the number of sales.  A notable one was the only 3 bedroom Whalers Cove condominium that never even hit the market, it was listed at $2,750,000 and sold above asking at $2,820,000, cash sale.  For a complete list of all the real estate activity on the island for last week click here:  Kauai Real Estate week of July 18 to 24, 2022

Table At Poipu Restaurant Review
Ruth Chris Steakhouse at the Kukuiula Shopping Village was one of the restaurants that did not make it through the pandemic.  But a new restaurant has taken its place and on Saturday we tried it out with some friends.  “Tables At Poipu” gives you the option of eating “Family Style” or ordering a combination of Small Plates, Salads and Large Plates.
The service was impeccable and the atmosphere not that far off from what Ruth Chris provided.  The food was simply delicious!  I started with a Roasted Fennel & Beet Salad and got to sample my hubbys French Onion Soup, both were fabulous.  For the Large Plates we all had something different:  Bone-in Pork Chop, Swoardfish, Penne Pasta and the 14 oz Ribeye. 
For dessert they had a couple of options that were served divided up and we choose the Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie, yummy!!!

The evening was just so lovely, great atmosphere, great service and an excellent meal.  More than that it’s a great addition to dining options in Poipu.  For more information visit the restaurants website by clicking here:  Table At Poipu 


Boarding Pass Not Needed At Honolulu Airport Security
The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport now has Credential Authentication Technology otherwise known as “CAT”, what that means to you is you no longer need to show your Boarding Pass when going through security.  You do still need to show your Boarding Pass at the gate.
When you go through the initial checkpoint your ID will verify that you are traveling that day.  The system connects to TSA’s secured flight database which connects to your ID’s unique code.  This system is in 100 US airports including LA, Vegas and Seattle.  TSA is working on getting this system on Kauai.   

Oahu, Maui and Big Island Year To Date Real Estate

At the beginning of the month I did a review of the Kauai real estate year-to-date and compared that to the same time last year.  This week I have the information for the other islands and we can see how Kauai compars.
The number of sales for all islands for both homes and condominiums is down due to lack of inventory.  The only exception being Oahu which is understandable given the amount of inventory they have for condos. 
The Median Price is another story; it’s up for all islands for both homes and condominiums.  Kauai has the highest Median Price for condominiums and the second highest for homes.
